Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I apply on the jobsplitters website for placements?

At the moment this is not possible, the idea is for us at jobsplitters to link you to organisations which offer affordable work and life experience. Therefore to apply, simply click on the website link on each placement. This will take you to the host organisations web page for volunteering or internships.

  2. What do I get for £10 when I pay jobsplitters to search for placements?

For only ten pounds, Jobsplitters will take account of your interests and career aspirations and attempt to find you a placement or a project that matches your needs. Many organisations charge thousands of pounds to put you on voluntary projects. Here at Jobsplitters we will find you projects that are a fraction of that price or even that are free of charge. We will send you a return email once we have done the research on what you are looking for. This email will contain the placements we feel are relevant to you with a description and advice on each one. If you have any more questions after keep in touch with us through email or our forums.

  3. What happens if I cannot find the placement I am looking for?

If you cannot find what you are looking for, then your best bet may be to ask us to find a placement for you. Simply follow the link "hire us" on the main page to find out more. Moreover, we are continually adding more placements so it is always worth checking back on the site every now and again!

  4. Will I have to pay for my flight and travel?

Generally volunteers have to pay for their own travel expenses, but if accommodation and food is provided on the project, it can be very affordable in comparison to a holiday or a project organised by a larger organisation!

  5. How do I know the project will be safe?

At Jobsplitters we only provide links to organisations and therefore cannot guarantee safety. Some countries are safer than others so looking at the foreign office travel information on certain countries is a good place to start.
